Serving Up Reservations

We are pleased to announce that on Tuesday, April 15th we will begin accepting reservations for parties of up to eight guests.

As friends and neighbors, you know that since the day we opened in the summer of 2003, there have been regular requests for us to accept reservations. Many of the factors that prohibited it in the past have changed. We are now ready and able to accommodate reservations as well as serve our patrons who prefer to walk in the door to dine with us.

Reservations – who does them or doesn’t do them is a very hot topic right now. As the food landscape in Portland has taken off, especially on the Eastside, we have been considering how and when to add reservations at Lauro. The time has arrived.

Our new General Manager, Julie Chambers, learned the ins-and-outs of accepting reservations at a busy restaurant during her tenure at Mario Batali’s Lupa Restaurant in New York City. Also, the last two-and-a-half years of running a book and welcoming walk-ins at Vindalho, our sister restaurant in the Clinton neighborhood, has taught us some critical lessons.

Please join us soon for dinner. Call and make a reservation or come in when you’re ready. Enjoy our seasonal menu, our simple and authentic cooking style and the energy of our recently remodeled dining room and bar.

Lauro Kitchen is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Complimentary parking is available in our private lot on the west side of the building.
