Machado Family and Friends Reassemble at Lauro Kitchen

Lauro owner David Machado, fresh from the opening success at Nel Centro, has once again picked up the chef's mantle at Lauro Kitchen. He can now be seen directing the Lauro Kitchen staff, creating new dishes and setting the table for another seven year run. Expect to see a lot of the effervescent Julie Machado, Dave's wife and partner, making sure Lauro is the warm and sparkling experience it has always been. And, look for Hilary Machado, their daughter and Lauro Kitchen's new dining room manager, expertly anticipating the needs of our diners and staff.

Lauro Wine Notes

Lauro Kitchen alumnus emeritus Daren Hamilton, (current general manager at Nel Centro) along with wine consultant Dave Holstrom, have just completed a top to bottom refinement of Lauro Kitchen's wine list. Their goal: improve the focus and value of the list and instill a confidence in each and every selection. Also, as a result of David Machado's long personal relationship with Lynn Penner-Ash, Lauro is now serving a Penner-Ash 2008 Pinot Noir - an incredible value at $11 a glass.

Lauro Kitchen's Hour of Happiness: More Choices, Less Money

Already one of the best values in Portland, our Happy Hour Menu just got better. We've lowered our prices across the board and added several new dishes. Lauro Kitchen's Hour of Happiness is an economical way to experience Lauro Kitchen's magic. Happy Hour now runs Monday through Friday 5-6 pm.

A Requiem for Lunch at Lauro

After a two year run, marked by modest success, we made the decision to stop serving lunch. It wasn't an easy decision, but it was necessary. What's easy is to thank all of you who came by and joined us. Thank you and we hope to see you for dinner!
